Terms of Service
Effective date: April 2, 2026
1. Services Provided
Class Ledger provides access to its proprietary billing and payment management software platform, along with managed hosting and related infrastructure services (collectively, the "Services"). Services are provided on a subscription basis and are intended for use by education-focused organizations.
2. Subscription & Fees
Customers agree to pay the subscription fees associated with their selected plan. Subscription fees are billed monthly unless otherwise stated. Fees for payment processing are separate and governed by the terms of the applicable third-party payment processor.
All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in a written agreement.
3. Payment Processing
Payment processing services are provided by third-party payment processors. Class Ledger does not act as a payment processor or financial institution. Customers agree to comply with all applicable processor terms, policies, and requirements.
Class Ledger is not responsible for payment disputes, chargebacks, or processor service interruptions.
4. Data Security & Infrastructure
Class Ledger employs administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect customer data. The platform uses a layered security model, including selective field-level encryption for designated sensitive data.
Services are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure under an active Business Associate Agreement (BAA). While Class Ledger supports security best practices, use of the Services does not, by itself, guarantee compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, PCI-DSS, or other regulatory frameworks.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Maintaining appropriate internal policies and procedures
- Managing user access and credentials
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Providing accurate and lawful data
Customers retain full responsibility for their regulatory and legal compliance obligations.
6. Backups & Data Recovery
Class Ledger performs daily automated backups and daily system snapshots as part of its infrastructure operations. While these measures support recovery, Class Ledger does not guarantee prevention of data loss.
Customers are encouraged to maintain independent records where required by law or policy.
7. Availability & Changes
Class Ledger aims to provide reliable service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features, infrastructure architecture, and security controls may change over time as part of platform improvements.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Class Ledger shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from use of the Services.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the subscription in accordance with the terms of the applicable agreement. Upon termination, access to the Services will be discontinued, and customer data will be handled in accordance with Class Ledger's data retention policies.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
